Let an institution provide editors for your group's knowledge base

Available to group administrators only: Use the following procedure to change the privileges assigned to any of your group's institution administrators for the Profile module or for the group's Knowledge Base. Institution administrators may assign to their librarian accounts any privilege equal to or lower than the privilege assigned to their accounts.

The most common uses of this procedure are to let an institution provide editors for your group's knowledge base or to let an institution approve its own profile.

Procedure

To change the privileges assigned to any of your group's institution administrators for the Profile module or for the group's Knowledge Base:

  Action Result or Note
1 Log on to QuestionPoint using your group administrator authorization number.  
2 If the Administration module is not displayed, click Administration at the top of the screen. The system displays the Institution Administration Home part of the Administration module.
3 Click the Subscription Group tab. The system displays the Group Administration Home part of the Administration module.
4 Click the Accounts link below the Subscription Group tab. The system displays the Search Institutions screen of the Accounts part of the Subscription Group section.

5 To display a list of institutions from which to choose an institution:

Go to step 6 if you want to list all the institutions in your group.

Go to step 8 if you want to list institutions based on their current profile and knowledge base privileges.

 
6 Click the List All Institutions tab. The system displays the Institution List screen that lists all the institutions in your group.
7 Go to step 9.  
8 On the Search Institutions screen, to request a list of institutions that have a particular profile privilege and a particular knowledge base privilege, click a profile button and a knowledge base button and then click the Submit button.

The system displays the Institution List screen that lists the institutions that have the particular profile privilege and the particular knowledge base privilege that you selected.
9 Click on the name of an institution for which you want to change the profile and/or knowledge base privileges. The system displays the Edit Institution Account screen for the institution.
10 If you want to change the profile privilege, click the button for the new privilege.

If you want to change the knowledge base privilege, click the button for the new privilege.

 
11 Click the Submit button. The system displays a message confirming the changes.
12 If you want to change a privilege for another institution, go to step 13. Otherwise, you are done.  
13 To display a list of institutions from which to choose another institution, do one of the following:

Click the Return to Institution List button to go back to the previous institution list that you viewed. Then go to step 9.

Click the List All Institutions tab to view a list of all institutions in your group. Then go to step 9.

Click the Search Institution tab to go to a screen for requesting a list of institutions based on their current profile and knowledge base privileges. Then go to step 8.
