Available Times part of the profile
Use the following information to help you gather the information needed in the Available Times part of the profile. For help entering the information, see Add or remove available times.
Purpose of screen
Available Times lets you enter the days of the week and the times that your organization is available to provide service for the global reference network. These are the days and times that you are monitoring and responding to questions, answers, or clarification requests from the network.
24-hour clock
Enter times based on a 24-hour clock. For example, enter 1330 for 1:30 p.m.
Enter times for your time zone
Enter the times for your time zone. Do not convert the times to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) because the system does that automatically when necessary.
May differ from times you serve your users
You are not required to provide service for the global reference network during the same hours that you serve your own users.
Options for indicating available times
You have the following options for indicating available times.
- One starting and ending time for one or more days
- Two or three starting and ending times for one or more days
- No starting and ending time for one or more days
Example of available times
In this example, an institution provides service for the global reference network during the following days of the week and times. It provides no service on Sunday or Wednesday.
- Monday 0845 to 1145
- Monday 1400 to 1700
- Tuesday 0845 to 1700
- Thursday 0845 to 1145
- Thursday 1400 to 1700
- Thursday 1900 to 2200
- Friday 0845 to 1700
- Saturday 0845 to 1145
