Add, change, or remove experts

You can add, change, or remove subject-matter experts listed when you select the expert to whom you refer a question. Your list of experts is for your use only.

Begin the procedure

To add, change, or remove experts:

1. Click the Settings tab in the Ask a Librarian module.
   QuestionPoint displays the My Address Book page.
   Note: If the page does not appear, click the My Addresses link under the Settings tab.
2. To add an expert, see Steps to add an expert.
   To change an expert's name and e-mail address, see Steps to change an expert.
   To remove an expert, see Step to remove an expert.

Steps to add an expert

1. Type the expert's name in its box.
2. Type the expert's e-mail address in its box.
3. Click the Add button.

QuestionPoint:

• Redisplays the page with a confirmation message
• Adds the name and address to the list at the bottom of the page
• Adds the name and address on the page used to refer a question to an expert

Steps to change an expert

1. Click the Edit button next to the expert's name and address in the list at the bottom of the page.
   QuestionPoint moves the name and the address from the list to the boxes at the top of the page.
2. Change the expert's name in the box as needed.
3. Change the expert's e-mail address in the box as needed.
4. Click the Save button.

QuestionPoint:

• Redisplays the page with a confirmation message
• Returns the changed name and address to the list at the bottom of the page
• Changes the name and address on the page used to refer a question to an expert

Step to remove an expert

• Click the Remove button next to the expert's name in the list at the bottom of the page.

QuestionPoint:

• Redisplays the page with a confirmation message
• Removes the name and address from the list at the bottom of the page
• Removes the name and address from the page used to refer a question to an expert

Notes about experts

Maximum number of experts. You can have up to 50 experts in your list.

Expert name. The expert name reminds you of the expert when you select one. It is not included in the message sent to the expert.

Order of experts in lists. If you want to arrange experts in a particular order, remember that expert names are listed in the following order on the page used to refer a question to an expert:

1. Names that begin with a number, 0-9
2. Names that begin with an uppercase letter, A-Z
3. Names that begin with a lowercase letter, a-z
