Parts of the Add New Record page
The Add New Record page lets you edit a new KB record before you add it to a KB. The page has several elements.
Navigation and information
The following elements let you navigate in a group of Add New Record pages and view related information.

This message shows the location of the current page within a group of Add New Record pages. | This message appears only when you add records to a KB from a question list or a list of draft records. |
| Previous | Click this link to go to the previous page in a group of Add New Record pages. | This link does not appear when you are viewing the first page in the group. |
| Next | Click this link to go to the next page in a group of Add New Record pages. | This link does not appear when you are viewing the last page in the group. |
| Return to list | Click this link to stop adding new KB records and return to a question list or My Drafts list. | This link appears only when you add records to a KB from a question list or a list of draft records. |
| Q&A ID | The question ID number of the question for which the record is being added. | Click the Question Detail link to view the Full Question information in a separate window. |
| Other records for this Q&A | This area appears if other KB records have been added for the question. It contains links to the other KB records. | Click a KB record number to view a record in a separate window. |
Actions
The following actions are available on the Add New Record page.

| Create Record | Click this button to add the new record to the KB when you finish editing it. | |
| Save Draft | Click this button to save a draft without adding a record to a KB. | When you click this button, QuestionPoint saves and redisplays the draft. Then you can continue to work on the draft. If you are working on a group of Add New Record pages, you can navigate to other pages in the group and then return to the draft. Or, you can return to the draft later. (Knowledge Base > Add/Edit > My Drafts). |
| Delete | Click this button to delete the draft of a record without adding it to the KB. | This button appears only when an Add New Record page has been saved as a draft. |
| Reset | Click this button to remove any changes that you made to the page since you last saved it. | |
| Cancel | Click this button to return to the Full Question without adding the record to the KB. | This button appears only when you add a record to a KB from a Full Question. |
Fields
The following groups of fields are included on the Add New Record page.

| Required Fields | Fields that you must complete to add a new KB record. Required fields: new KB record | QuestionPoint automatically copies information for some or all of these fields when you add a KB record from a question list or a Full Question. When you add a KB record from an answered question, QuestionPoint can usually copy information for all of the required fields. |
| Optional Fields | Fields that make a record easier to search. You may complete one or more of these fields when you add a new KB record. Optional fields: new KB record | QuestionPoint automatically copies information for some of these fields when you add a KB record from a question list or a Full Question. |
| Source Citation | Citation information for the source of the answer or a source that could be consulted for further information. You may complete one or more of these fields when you add a new KB record. Citation fields: new KB record |
