Librarian/patron
ended chat session (standard chat)
Session ends properly
A standard chat session ends properly when any of the
following happens:
- The patron clicks the End Session link
- The librarian clicks the End Session link
- The librarian clicks the Logoff link to log
off Chat
If any of these happens, QuestionPoint:
- Adds a message at the end of the transcript to indicate
that the session ended properly, and
- Sends the transcript to the patron via e-mail (if the patron
provided an e-mail address)
The message at the end of the transcript is:
- Librarian ended chat session if the
librarian clicked the link first
- Patron ended chat session if the patron clicked
the link first
Session does not end properly
However, if the standard chat session does not end properly:
- No message appears at the end of the transcript
- QuestionPoint does not send a transcript to the patron via
e-mail
A session does not end properly if:
- The patron closes the session window without clicking
the End Session link.
- The librarian closes the Chat Window without clicking the Logoff link.
- The patron's or librarian's browser is disconnected
by Internet problems.
- The patron's or librarian's browser freezes
and the session times out.
