Set up local knowledge base access

Before patrons can search and see records in your local knowledge base, permission must be set by the group administrator in the QuestionPoint Administration module at Administration > Subscription Group > Settings > Knowledge Base.

The group administrator should:

  1. Click the Yes radio button for Make public for all internet users.
  2. Optional: Enter text in the Ownership Statement box that will appear at the bottom of any KB record viewed.
  3. Click the Submit button.

When setting the permission, the administrator should note the ID for the group's knowledge base. Any institution in the group that wishes to provide access for their patrons will need the ID for the HTML code for their search box.
