Account privileges and permissionsThe institution administrator creates and manages the QuestionPoint librarian accounts used by the institution's staff. The privileges (abilities) that the administrator assigns to an account determine which QuestionPoint modules an account may use and which tasks it may perform in a module.
Privileges that an institution administrator may assignFor each module, the institution administrator may assign to a librarian account any privilege equal to or lower than the privilege assigned to the administrator's account. The group administrator assigns the privileges to the institution administrator for the Profile module and for the group's Knowledge Base. The global reference network administrator assigns the privilege to the institution administrator for the global Knowledge Base.
Determine what privileges an institution administrator may assignIf you are an institution administrator, use the following procedure to determine what privileges you may assign to librarian accounts for your institution:
Default privileges assigned to most institution administratorsThe following table shows the default privilege assigned to most institution administrators for each module. It also shows the other privileges that might be assigned to an institution administrator.
All privileges for each QuestionPoint moduleFor each QuestionPoint module, the following table lists and describes all privileges from lowest to highest abilities. For each module, the institution administrator may assign to a librarian account any privilege equal to or lower than the privilege assigned to the administrator's account.
