Karen Braun is currently the Assistant Manager of bibliotheek.nl, the national website of public libraries in the Netherlands. In March 2003, Karen helped launch al@din, the national online reference management system. It is estimated that the al@din network answers 10,000 to 20,000 questions per month.

Karen received her bachelors of Information Management in 1999, before joining Vereniging of Openbare Bibliotheken. She also worked for four years as Internet Project Manager at Decision!Data and Framfab assisting in the creation of several websites for Dutch governmental institutions and companies such as Vodafone and KPN.
