Don Welsh < djwels@wm.edu > is Head of Reference Services at the Earl Gregg Swem Library at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Swem Library started using QuestionPoint in February 2004, as part of the ASERL Ask-a-Librarian service. The Association of Southeastern Research Libraries was the first-ever virtual reference service cooperatively staffed by research libraries across a region. Staffed by reference personnel at 11 ASERL member libraries, the service is usually available 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
